What is Reiki?
Reiki is a hands-on method of healing using Universal Life Energy. It is a holistic form of healing on a mental, physical, spiritual and emotional level.
Who can benefit from Reiki?
Anyone can enjoy the benefits of Reiki. People with all types of illnesses or injury can benefit from it as can the person who wishes to relieve stress or who requires relaxation from time to time.
How is Reiki given?
The subject normally lies on a treatment table fully clothed, she/he is then covered with a light blanket   as the body temperature can drop during a session. All jewellery, belts and buckles are removed before treatment.
The Reiki Practitioner then places her/his hands on the subject on or over various parts of the body
for healing purposes.

How long does a Reiki session last?
A Reiki session normally lasts one hour, after which the subject should feel very relaxed.
How many Reiki sessions does one need?
This can vary from one person to another, and from one condition to another. In the case of a chronic ailment four sessions are recommended on consecutive days if possible and thereafter as required. The recipient will know if and when she/he requires additional sessions. Each case is unique. For the person requiring relaxation
or for stress purposes one session may be enough and the person will decide if and when they wish to
repeat the experience.

What is Distance/Absentee Healing?
Distance/Absentee healing can be just as effective and is marvellous for those who wish to be treated overseas or perhaps in another part of ones town or country. Only Reiki Masters and Level II practitioners are qualified to carry out distance healing. It is just as effective as seeing the subject in person.
What are the Qualifications for a Reiki Practitioner?
Reiki Level 1 qualifies one to heal oneself and others.
Reiki Level 11 introduces the first sacred Reiki symbols and the ability to practice Distance/Absentee Healing. Professional Reiki Practitioners should have at least Level 11. The higher the qualification, the more powerful the healing.

What is a Reiki Master?
This is a person who has qualified in Reiki, Level 1, Level 11 and Level 111 - Mastership.
A Certificate of Qualification is issued on completion of each of these programmes.
A copy of the lineage details contained on the
Lineage page is also provided..
What is Seichem?
Seichem is based on and originated from the same source as Reiki. It activates the elemental healing rays
of Fire, Water and Air and allows them to be channelled with the Earth element Reiki greatly enhancing an attuned healer’s potential. The knowledge of how the extra elemental healing rays of fire, water
and air could be channelled was given to
Kathleen Milner, the initiator of Tera MaiTM Reiki.
